BOZEMAN, MT — Kathleen Williams, candidate for Montana’s lone U.S. House seat, released the following statement regarding a report from the Associated Press saying Russian intelligence offered bounties to Afghan militants to kill U.S. Troops, and that the Administration had done nothing about it to this point:
As the daughter and wife of veterans, this is personal. Reports that this administration had knowledge of Russian bounties placed on U.S. soldiers and have so far done nothing about it are deeply concerning. Russia has repeatedly acted as an enemy of the United States, and it is time we started acting like it. As your Congresswoman, I promise to always serve those who serve us and never put personal or foreign interests over our country’s own. Montanans, Americans, and our troops need leaders who can think for themselves and aren’t afraid to demand accountability when it comes to the safety of U.S. troops.
